The goal is to to take a recently acquired 1988 Albin 36' trawler from the Rappahanock River in the southern Cheasepeake to St. Petersburg, FL on the west coast of Florida via the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). The trip is about 1,300 miles and should take about 3 weeks; its a heck of a 'shake down' cruise.
The ICW formally starts in Norfolk, VA - mile 0 - and winds down through the eastern states to Florida. You can then either go all the way down to the Keys and back up the west coast or take a short-cut through Lake Okeechobee to Ft. Meyers.
Glad to see you're underway! Safe voyage south,

Good luck! Diane ran the Dismal Swamp Marathon right next to the waterway. Kinda cool area there. Be safe. Nice vessel and nice BLOG.
